Bartlett MSc Adaptive Architecture and Computation Show

[3.9.2007] The Bartlett MSc Adaptive Architecture and Computation se uskuteční v Institute of Contemporary Arts ve středu, 5. září, 2007.

Architecture + Computation at the ICA

5 September, 2007
12 noon to 6:00 pm
This exhibition, at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, marks the second year of the MSc Adaptive Architecture and Computation, UCL Bartlett's one-year taught MSc in the field of digital design. Bringing together research at the Bartlett with cutting edge practice, this course aims to give students a solid theoretical and technical foundation for the use of computation as a means to realise their designs, understand the built environment, and create architecture.

The exhibition will be in the Brandon and Nash rooms, at the ICA.
This event will run in tandem with an associated panel discussion:

Embedded, Embodied, Adaptive

5 September, 2007
6:30 pm

From simulation to systems to experience, a diverse group of speakers offer insights into the possibilities of computation in design. Our relationship to the built environment, and how that may be affected or understood via technologies of computation, is a point of departure for an open discussion among the panel and with the public at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. This event will be followed by a drinks reception and private view of the Architecture + Computation exhibition.

Speakers include:

Antony Gormley, sculptor
Usman Haque, environmental designer
Alan Penn, architectural theorist
Charles Walker, architect and engineer
Michael Wheeler, philosopher

This event is in ICA Cinema 1, at 6:30 pm, 5 September, 2007.
